About My Practice

A Life of Balance

I was not an athletic child and didn’t become interested in fitness until my teens. I started lifting weights in hopes of becoming stronger and more confident. I went on to become a Personal Trainer and even competed in several NPC Figure Competitions.

Yoga had always intrigued me and I had taken a few classes at the gym but didn’t really have a serious practice. In 2015 I moved from NC to Virginia. The move was very difficult for me and it wasn’t until I found a local studio that I felt as though I belonged. I began practicing regularly and took the plunge and enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training. I graduated from the Hot Asana Yoga University and received my 200RYT. In 2019 I completed my Advanced Yoga Teacher Training with K10Yoga and received my 500RYT. 

I think part of me will always be a “gym rat”, but I love the way yoga brings me calmness and peace while still being strong. It’s all about the balance. As a teacher, I hope I can help others find their balance.
